I'm kind of into the skeletons this year - will provide pics as I've taken a few on my walks. My question is: Are there more skeletons than Santas? Or is it just that people can put more deco into them, more of their own life? I've seen skeletons on bicycles, skeleton with a crocodile, skeletons two stories high, etc.
My working hypotheses: 1) Fall is bigger than Christmas in deco seasons; there's more fall, and everyone gets into fall deco regardless of their religion; 2) Skeletons are becoming a generic, all-purpose deco, fall, death, fun, all that stuff wrapped in one; 3) GB is the perfect size for out-of-control deco, just big enough for it to be seen, too small for people to have anything better to do; 4) orange and purple are becoming the colors of fall deco.
You can combine death/blood/vampire/skeleton with haybale/pumpkins/strawmen etc. and it's done every once in a while, will try to share pix.
